Balmain Rugby is a community club that has a strong parental presence, it is this community atmosphere that allows boys and girls to have a unique experience when they pull on the Black and Gold.
Balmain Rugby offers teams across all junior ages, starting at the U6s and developing through to the U14s. Balmain are also a part of the representative pathway to Sydney University through its Junior Player Program, which commences at U10s and offers opportunities for boys and girls to play Representative Rugby.
Our Minis (U6-U9) all play on a Saturday morning with enjoyment and participation a major factor. The players then move to tackle Rugby in U8s-U9s and progress to playing on Sundays in the Sydney Junior Rugby Union Competition, this is a graded competition for our U10s – U15s. Our older age groups use Leichhardt No 2 as our home ground and what better way to spend a Sunday morning watching our boys and girls play Rugby, enjoying a bacon and egg roll on a waterfront oval.
INFO FOR NEW PARENTS
Welcome to Balmain Junior Rugby Club or "The Wolves". No doubt you have many questions, hopefully we can cover most below, if not please feel free to contact us anytime via the contact us page.
Balmain is great place for kids to make new friends while playing the ultimate team game; rugby union. Team unity and group effort are core parts of rugby's ethos. Success in rugby depends on the whole team and not 1 or 2 individuals. Our aim is to instill these values in all our players.
And for the parents ... there are few better places to meet new people and become a part of your community than on the sidelines of a Wolves game or at one of our parents social events.
